Creating your Designer Portfolio with FlowVella

Creating your designer portfolio with FlowVella is quick and easy. Read on for a few of my tips and tricks on how to get the most out of using FlowVella to create any artist, photographer, or designer portfolio. You can even create a Flow for each of your projects to share with your clients. Truly, the options are endless.

Creating your Designer Portfolio

Designer Portfolio Templates from Flowboard

Our pre-made templates offer a quick way to create an artist or designer portfolio on the go. Try our Showcase Light, Showcase Dark, Vlogger, or Wedding Design Book templates to get you started. You can also have full custom control of what your Flow will look like by choosing “start from scratch”.

Upload your Media from the Cloud

Flowboard Cloud

Upload your media quickly and efficiently from the cloud services you’re already using, like Dropbox, Box, SkyDrive and more. If you don’t have one of these accounts already, you can quickly sign up and drop all of your portfolio graphics, videos, photos, and more, then easily connect FlowVella to your new account. It’s a lot quicker and taking screenshots or saving each image or media file to your iPad!

Add web or app links to your projects

Set Web Link with Flowboard

Easily link to your work that lives on the web, or to another app. It’s pretty simple to do – first copy the web link or the link to any app in the Apple App Store (via any web browser). Then, paste the web link or app link into the link field (shown above) of any object in your Flow.

Create Navigation

Just like you would have a navigation bar on your website, you can easily add one to your Flow. Just add text or an image, then link it to another screen of your Flow. This gives you full control over how a client, interviewer, or anyone else will interact with your portfolio.

Giang Nguyen used FlowVella for his designer portfolio. We love the clean lines, and his design inspired our Design Showcase templates. Both Dark and Light Showcase Templates would make a great starting point for any designer, or you can of course choose to start your Flow from scratch for full creative control.

Shannon Yeh, another photographer, does an excellent job of using navigation in her Flow. You can quickly tap or click on the different text links like “gallery” or “contact me” to get to the right screen. We also love her bright and fun photos, and the simple white background that really allows them to pop.

We’d love to see the artist, photographer, or designer portfolios you have made with FlowVella! Send them to us at anytime, or leave the Flow URLs in the comments. We can’t wait to see what you create!
