What are Pre-O Adventure trips like?

Graduating seniors will tell you that this trip was one of the highlights of their first year at USD. Pre-O trips help ease the transition from summer activities to college life by giving you a chance to connect with amazing student leaders and ask questions about both campus life and the San Diego experience. Topics include what classes are like, what student clubs are on campus, where are the best beaches and many more helpful insights. Best of all, you will arrive on campus with new friends and a better understanding of college life at USD.

The Roommates

Pre-O Adventure is extremely popular and fills up quickly so sign up between June 10th and June 13th. On June 14th we will process applications by RANDOM LOTTERY and will assign trips based on stated preferences. We will continue to accept registrations after June 13th on a first-come first-served basis until all trips are full. We normally have a long wait list, so complete your application by June 13th to improve your chances of getting a spot on a Pre-O Adventure trip.

All of the Pre-O Adventure trips are designed for incoming students with little or no experience. The three new trips are more rigorous and remote, while the Mount Laguna trip is more relaxed. While OA encourages everyone to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle, if you are in reasonable shape you should have an enjoyable time on any trip. Be sure to check trip descriptions for more details about specific requirements.

What about experience and fitness level?

Can I move into my residence hall early?

Early move-in is included with all the Pre-O Adventure trips. Most students will move directly into their room, however, some students on the longer trips may not move into their room until the end of their trip, depending on availability. Storage will be provided.

Space is limited so register by June 13th.

OA offers scholarships to students receiving significant need-based financial aid. There are a limited number of scholarships, which will be available on a first-come first-served basis. See Scholarship Program for more information.

We will notify you of your selection and trip placement by June 14th. At this point, students have 4 days to submit an online payment or notify OA of a payment by check. Failure to pay will place you on a wait list only.
