Looking From A Sociological Perspective
For this project and based on what I have gathered so far, I would apply the "conflict perspective". Different people have their own personal views on a variety things. (This is true!) Many belong to one group and share the same ideas and beliefs. Some groups might view things as racist or hurtful. Others may look past that and focus on something entirely different (such as a new meaning or the main point). Some are very quick and defensive. Others are patient and take the time to look at the whole picture. This clash of ideas is further fueled by the fact that we don't know if we are right or not, although we like to think we are. We are only left with our thoughts and interpretations. This creates the conflict of what is and what isn't. What is racist and what isn't in our society?
