2 animal adaptations- The beaver has fur that looks like it is wet and oily because they live near the water. it is also easier for them to glide in the water. The skunk has a smell that it projects when it thinks it will be harmed or in danger.
Plant species- Large trees
2 plant adaptations- many trees have think bark to protect them from cold winters. Broad leaves capture sunlight for the trees.
diversity- Good amount of diversity in this biome.
The impact on humans-People cut down a lot of trees for houses, ships, and a really big one is paper. Farmers also like to cut down the forest for farming because of the rich soil beneath it.
Type of climate- temperate
1.The temperate deciduous forest biome is divided onto five zones. The zone levels are dependent upon the height of the trees.
2. receive 30 - 60 inches of rain each year and are ranked second only to the rainforest as the rainiest biome.
3. Many of the trees contain sap which they use to keep their roots from freezing during the winter.
4. The growing season lasts about six month.
5. The leaves of deciduous trees change color in the fall because the plant or tree stops producing chlorophyll which is what gives them their green color.
