Born April 20th, 1893 in Barcelona, Spain. His father was a watchmaker, and his mother was a goldsmith.

Enrolled in the School of Industrial and Fine Arts in Barcelona until 1910. Miró was also enrolled at the La Lonja School of Fine Arts in Barcelona.
