Miró lived in Spain during WWII and created the painting Constellations. Constellations is a series of 23 small paintings on a single canvas.

After WWII, Miró decided to divid his time between Spain and France again, and his artwork ranged from sporadic abstract paintings to traditional oil on canvas landscapes.
