Importance of photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is essential to life because without it, oxygen wouldn't be produced and there would be to much carbon dioxide in the air. Without photosynthesis, plants wouldn't be able to live, so there wouldn't be any organism at the bottom of the food chain, and there for there would be no food.
