from Abercrombie and snug jeggings
I am from the place we share jubilant cries and somber consolations
But quite cozy and warm
The wafts of cooked rice traveling through the kitchen
I am from towering palm tress
the bright California poppy, a mix vivid yellow and orange
I'm from money stuffed envelopes and summer hiking trails
I'm from the storytelling brother
And motivating mom
And the genius dad
I'm from the "Always give it your best." and Santas coming, better be a good girl!
I'm from the faithful repenting Christians
Those who are in redemption
I'm from the modern, bustling streets in Seoul
From spicy kimchi and chewy rice cakes
From the ducks that teased mom
