How Is Cardboard Made?

Corrugated Fiberboard

Cardboard is made up of 3 layers of paperboard which contains grinded up wood from a chemical process called pulping. The layer in the middle is usually made of a different kind of pulp. Machines called corrugators are used to process the cardboard without warping and can run at high speeds. The middle/corrugated layer forms a rippled pattern. An adhesive is used to glue the three layers together to form what is then called cardboard. After they are joined the outer layers are humidified then dried and pressed to hold its shape.
