FlowVellaKEXP’s New Home, a Campaign for Seattle Music
One of the best things about living and working in the Seattle area is the sense of community. Working at FlowVella has brought so many interesting opportunities my way. One of our more recent interesting and exciting collaborations has been working with KEXP.
KEXP is a not for profit radio station associated with the University of Washington. Their mission is about more than just a radio station – they aim to provide a music experience, on the air, online, and on the streets. And it’s not just a Seattle radio station. People from all over the world listen in daily, get involved with KEXP, and donate to keep them around.
When KEXP contacted us about creating a Flow for their “New Home” campaign, we obviously said yes. They wanted a Flow that would capture the main values of their campaign that they could showcase at Sasquatch, a local music festival. We love working with friends and helping them to make their goals and dreams a reality.
The KEXP New Home Campaign is about raising money to reach their goal of creating an entire new space at Seattle Center. Through the New Home Campaign, they are hoping to build a new library, DJ booth, and a new 4,500 square foot community gathering space for intimate performances and events. Combine that with a brand new artist lounge, and a live room for audience viewing, the space they’ve created seems like it will benefit both those that perform, work, and listen to KEXP equally. Through the space creation, they hope to revitalize the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood by creating a new pedestrian thruway. I’m most excited to see how they expand their performance offerings. When the weather is nice in Seattle, KEXP has many outdoor shows at the Seattle Center. I can only imagine the increase in performance opportunities this will create for them.
