To say we know the ins and outs of how best to design and build apps is an understatement. Since then, our business has grown and changed, but our premise still is the same. We want to help others create beautiful stories and ideas to share with the world in a simple and intuitive way.

When the idea was brought forth that you could build app prototypes with FlowVella, I was thrilled by the prospect. As a designer, it’s difficult to find a tool that is quick and easy to build out prototypes and then share with stakeholders. With the addition of shapes to the FlowVella platform, it unlocked the capabilities to build things from scratch all inside the app. No importing finished wireframes or mock-ups — do it all in FlowVella right from the start!
FlowVella is great for the process; once you create one prototype with it, you can easily duplicate your Flow for all future projects. Plus, it looks incredibly professional to send your prototypes and mock-ups in a presentation format with all of the details of how you expect different functions to work, or why you made certain design decisions. Plus, it’s available via a URL, so no attaching of PDF files or multiple images to an email!
Our new iPhone App Template is perfect for all of your prototyping or mock-up sharing needs. You can create interactive iPhone wireframes and designs right from the FlowVella iPhone App template. You can also easily import your finalized comps and snap them into place in the iPhone frame. The template comes with four screens, but you can easily duplicate these screens to create as many as you need. Be sure to fill in the text details to the right as well, so your viewer will better understand your ideas.

What sets FlowVella apart from other tools and makes it a powerful for creating prototypes is the ease in setting links and interactivity of the design. When you create buttons and text, you can make these buttons link and simulate exactly how the app will work. When you share the presentation to your co-workers, friends, or stakeholders via URL, they will understand the concept fully and will be able to give better feedback. With real interactivity and simulation of how an app might flow, you can alter and update design decisions before you go to the expense of developing it.
On the left, is an animated GIF that displays how to edit a button, and then adding a link to it. You can see by adding links on buttons to screens, you can create the intended experience of your iPhone app or any other app.
The animation above shows the prototype in the FlowVella Mac viewer. When you click or tap on that the search button we created earlier, the prototype links to the search screen.
