Full-page pictures show a bunny who likes to chew on everything in sight. He tries to take a bite out of a tree, baseball, guitar, and even his play house. He chomps and tooth marks are apparent on some of these things. Now that it is lunch time, bunny is really ready to chew. His mother brings a plate full of vegetables and "Wow" it is bunny's chance to really chomp. He chews crunchy carrots, celery, and mashed potatoes (chomping mashed potatoes does seem to fit the pattern). It is all absolutely yummy and the closing spread shows one contented bunny with food splattered everywhere. According to the publisher the books in the "Hello Genius" series are designed to promote self-care, animal recognition, speaking skills, and first words. The animals have a cartoon look rather than realistic, so part of the learning experience may be a bit limited. Kids will get a laugh out of Bunny's chewing and chomping and they will certainly learn the word "Yum" which he frequently says. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
