*Thomson's theory proved that atoms could, in fact, be divided.

*Thomson also found that atoms do have negative charges. He called those negative charges "Corpuscles" which are now known as "electrons".

*Thomas then came up with a model of an atom called "plum-pudding". In the model, negative atoms were scattered all throughout an atom with positive charged materials.
