The Pit and the Pendulum Emotions
Kaitlyn Fuhrman and Nik Kristoff
When he smelled the foul odor of the rotting bodies in the pit, he was scared and disgusted that people would do a thing like that. He was scared because he didn't want to become another person in the pit.
Sight
His sense of sight was overcome by fear and helplessness because he couldn't see anything, so his imagination ran wild.
When he could finally see, the helplessness went away a little but the fear remained because of the terrible paintings on the walls and he saw the pendulum moving.
When he noticed that there was no way out, he felt hopeless. And he anticipated the pendulum dropping and watched its every move. He was obsessed with it.

In the beginning, the water was drugged and it made him panic and unable to think clearly.
When the narrator woke up and tasted the seasoned meat, the seasoning made him thirsty, and that was another form of torture for him, because there was no water. It made him frustrated.
He heard the rats skittering around and it made him feel disgusted, but he used the rats to his advantage later on.
He dropped a pebble into the pit and heard it hit the water a long time after he dropped it, which intensified his newfound fear of falling into the pit.
He also didn't hear anything but that, which made him terrified in the beginning that he was left there alone to starve. He felt helpless, sad because he felt that there was no hope left, and lonely.
In the beginning, he tried to tell how big the room was by touch. He thought that it was about twice the size that it actually was, which made him more afraid.
When he fell and found the pit because all his head didn't land on solid floor, he was terrified of falling in.
The robe that they dressed him in was vey dressed and it added to his frustration and irritation.
When he was getting the rats to chew his way to escape, he felt the rats crawling all over him and it made him feel disgusted. He was also anxious because he didn't know if they would free him on time.
When they heated the room, he was scared of being burned to death.
