Biographical Summary:
Hernán Cortés de Monroy y Pizarro was born in the year 1485 in the town of Medellìn, Spain and he was born into a lesser noble family in Spain with his father, Martin Cortés, and his mother, Maria Cortés. When Hernan Cortés was young he has always wanted to explore but before he set sail for the firt time Hernan Cortés failed in law school. In 1508, when he turned 19 he set sail for first time to Hispaniola in the Carrabiens. Then in 1511 Hernan Cortés went with Diego de Velazquez to capture Cuba and later he was rewarded for boldness from the Cuban governor. Also his greatest accomplishment was with the war against the Aztec, in 1521. The Aztecs was located in the city known as Tenochtitlan, in modern day Mexico, and Hernan Cortés set sail to the new worlds for gold and to spread Christianity. Hernan Cortés joined the Aztecs enemy's, Tlaxcalas, to defeat the Aztecs and then in December 2, 1547 in age of 62 Hernan Cortés died.
