The first battery was invented in Como, Italy. The battery replaced animal power and human power. So the battery made it so humans and animals didn't have too pull things like carriages. The battery provided less work on the humans or animals.

The battery made life better because they didn't have to have horses pull carts. This also helps life today because we now have cars that are powered by battery's we also have cell phones, tv remotes and flash lights, etc. all because of batteries.
