Being A Faithful Friend

Being A Faithful Friend

Being A Faithful Friend

By Denise Torres

There are 3 scriptures. Luke 8:8 explains how you don’t help one seed with a little action it can suffer and not grow. on the other hand Luke 8:7 it explains a well nurtured seed and how its manifesting and simply growing into its beauty. We as people and believers when we walk and do things we are showing god. Because God lives in us we know that he is for us and not against us and simply loves us for who we are. A simple gesture will always go so far or not, but what doesn’t kills you makes you stronger, right? Do you ever remember a time in which someone just told you “Hey your beautiful, never forget!” or “God loves you” ? Do you remember that feeling you would get its called joy. Wether you were depressed, angry, or even still happy those little sayings could only put a smile on your face. That feeling of being appreciated, noticed, and thought for is you planting a seed. A well nurtured seed. And the more we water it with small sayings, gestures, and etc,. it will only grow. I say this because our youth generation can make a difference. In the video that contains these 4 gentlemen giving people compliments it shows how our generation can create of movement of planting a small seed for others to water with a simple compliment. In that video 99.9% of the people who were given compliments to smiled. A smile that can make a difference. In the next video containing the free hugs experiment was a huge movement. And one thing I notice in this video the first people to give a hug to man with the sign are mainly elderly women. I only wondered why is it? Why was the youth generation not the first to give a hug? I come to the conclusion that we are afraid and even limited. Because society gives youth a negative connotation. Society gives labels to youth like immature, lazy, not worthy enough, and etc,. but who are they to tell you that your not enough to go out into the world and change it. I believe this generation can change anything. Especially with God on our side but the question also is that when God calls you to do something like a small gesture/compliment to someone will you ? Or will you believe the enemy (society or anything that stands in your way ) prohibit you from doing the task at hand? Because when God calls you and you don’t respond he will find someone else who will do it. In Proverbs 18:2 it states how some people don’t want to listen nor understand they just want to voice their own opinions. And for example imagine you were telling God all your opinion and all your point and your side of stories and not listening to what he has to say nor understanding it. Whats the point? Because if you are not listening to what our heavenly Father has to say and you don’t understand it are you watering your seed or are you simply letting it decay. Also what type of friend do you want to be? Do you want to be the friend that helps plant a seed and waters/nourishes it or do you want to be the friend that doesn’t plant a seed and just watch the seed you could have planted wither away. And just to tie in some disney into this the video with Pocahontas called “ Listen to your heart, you will understand” to me shows that the dream is God’s call for you and like Grandmother Willow says its your path. And we can choose (free will) to listen to what God has to say to you and follow it. When you Listen to you heart and have faith in the holy spirit you will understand. When I say you can make a difference you can. You can be a Grandmother Willow for others in which you help others by saying something small that can change someone emotions, path, or even as simple as change a bad thought into something good. So I encourage you to go out and give someone a simple compliment, gesture, or even just a hug and you’ll see that you’ve made a changed. That you planted a seed, you listened to your heart and understood that God has something in store for them. So remember what type of friend you want to be to people!
