Sometimes we need to move around to make sure we are understanding our learning, and giving our brain a break. Here are some ways to help the way you learn with movement.

Movement activities to support learning

When reading a long text, take a breather. This raises your heart rate and activates the chemicals in your brain.

Go for a goal setting walk in the classroom. Ask yourself: What is my goal for today? Why is it important? What do I need to do today to reach my goal.

Create a pattern of clapping, stomping, marching or tapping of the elbows and knees to help you remember spelling or vocabulary words, a math formula, or even the key points of a story.

Play Main Idea Charades!

Act out or pantomime a key point in a text.
