Chapter 1

King Peleus and Thetis get married and all the gods of Mount Olympus were invited, except for Eris. Eris was very angry for not being invited to the wedding. To cause trouble, Eris threw a golden apple into the fruit bowl and the a apple said "to the fairest." Hera, Athene and Aphrodite all claimed the apple. The three goddesses wanted the wedding guests to choose the fairest, but no one would for fear of making an enemy of the other two. They argued for a long time.
