Products traded

Many goods that were traded along the silk road were luxury products.

Products such as: -Carpets
-Blankets
-Rugs
-Silk
-Wool products

Luxury goods

Buddhist monks in china were given purple silk robes as a sign of high honor. Volume of trade on the silk road was small, because the goods were rare and expensive. Grapes from the romans were traded to the Chinese because grapes were a novelty to the Chinese. Romans were highly interested in silk and there was high demand. Only the Chinese knew how to make silk for a very long time.
