Parts of the biome exist in California, Oregon, South Africa and Australia. This biome has both forests and grasslands. The dry season is very dry and can last up to 5 months. The dry summers make the chaparral weak for wildfires. Fires are helpful in this biome because they help split us the living and dead organisms in the biome.

2 animal adaptations are:

The animals have to adapt a way to stay hydrated through the dry months. They have to capitalize on the shortage of food in the dry months.

2 plant adaptations:

They must be able to endure long periods of dry soil and no water. They have to adapt long roots.

It holds the worlds highest plan diversity of 20%.

Humans build tourist attractions all the the biome and the most dangerous thing to the biome is humans coming in and building in the biome. This effects organisms that depend on natural wild fires to survive.
