El Nino in Central America

During El Niño in Central America, the amount of precipitation decreases, as the atmosphere becomes warm and dry.

El Niño also impacts the oceans in Central America. It warms the surface water in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean, and affects the speed and strength of ocean currents.

Text

By increasing temperatures in the oceans of Central America, the population of fish in that area begin to decrease.

Since people in Central America are very dependent on fish for food, and for their economy, the economy ages will go down sufficiently.

There are many different types of technology that has been used through the process of El Niño.

Scientists use satellites to receive graphic images of the entire Earth, such as the image above.

Scientists use ocean buoys to monitor changes in the ocean, radiosondes to monitor global climate patterns, as well as other prediction tools.
