Social and Cultural Life

Texans liked to race horses, hunt, and fish as their pastimes. Families would gather to have parties, dances etc. Texans would also have fiestas where they danced, play games, and stuffed their faces with food. Texans would also attend weddings, baptisms, and revivals. Plays put together by theaters also entertained those who lived in towns. They liked to read newspapers and attend political debates.
