Philbrook Museum of Art - Asian Art Selections

By aschweik

Philbrook's Asian art collection is particularly strong in Japanese paintings from the Edo Period (1615-1868) which were part of the famous Shin'enkan collection of Oklahoma oilman Joe D. Price. In addition, there are Southeast Asian ceramics from the Gillert Family, and Chinese ceramics and carvings from the Taber Family. An extraordinary 18th century Chinese porcelain docai vase is a signature piece of this collection.
