Integrating gender and social inclusion in climate resilience programmes

Key Insights:

- Gender empowerment does not happen in isolation, women need to be empowered in all areas (economic, social, technological etc) to become resilient.

-
Gender empowerment is essential in achieving resilience – women make up the majority of the population in many places where BRACED is working and become the breadwinners in households during times of emergency.

-
Assets alone are not sufficient to achieve women’s empowerment and resilience, they need to be accompanied by a role in decision making.
