Dirait On
Or as we say,
"The other French song".
It's the pretty one,
The song which sings by itself
When it's done right, it's no longer notes on a page
But flowers swirling through the air
Delicate petals and passionate blooms
Soft and shy and filling the room
It's the musical version of pure delight
Innocence and beauty and joy
The reward for passion is immense
And thus, this song was born from the need for love
It touches a heart
And clings to the warmth of connection
With love and passion comes pain
Dirait-on speaks to the suffering one feels
And assures whoever can hear
That their passion is worth the fear
That joy is worth the misery one feels
The song is rife with uncertainty
And that is what makes it new
It's beautiful because it's unsure
There's no feeling in the world as potent,
And that's what makes this song special.
