They celebrated the Lunar New Year learning about regional cuisine and how to prepare amazing dishes. Delicious! Students also got to try their hand at traditional calligraphy skills!

We celebrated Mardi Gras with Kings cakes, crepes, making masks, and singing songs. Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler!

We have been engaging our students in a variety of ways in our classes. During our PLC time we are working on creating thematic units for all level 1 classes as well as performance-based assessments. Our goal is to align all level 1 classes by course alike. French teachers at Paly and Gunn are collaborating on creating and implementing level 3 thematic units and fun activities in class and align with the ACTFL (American Council of Teachers of Foreign Language) proficiency guidelines.

As teachers we are eager to learn and several teachers attended the ACTFL Conference as well as CLTA (California Language Teacher Association) to learn more about our national proficiency standards and performance-based assessments.
