New Group Formed
THE DOORS
The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore. The group was born when Morrison and Manzarek(two group leaders back then) met unexpectedly during the summer of 1965 in California. They have been studying together before. Their first album, released in January 1967, kicked off with "Break on Through" and also featured the chart with "Light My Fire", "Back Door Man" and "The End". Before '67 was over, they'd issued the ambitious follow-up Strange Days with such compositions as "Love Me Two Times", "People Are Strange" and "When the Music's Over".
