Turners Syndrome

1 out of 2,500 girls gets Turners Syndrome

Turners Occurs when a piece of genetic material gets "dropped" during the division of sex cells or during the process of meiosis.

Females with Turners cannot get directly treated for Turners.

TS is confirmed by taking sample a of blood, amniotic fluid and other tissue samples.


Fun Fact:

In fraternal twins, one can have TS while the other twin wouldn't have TS.

-Short neck with webbed appearance

-Low hairline at the back of the neck

-Low set ears

-Lymphedema of hands and feet

-Droopy eyelids.


-It's a sex-linked condition

-TS is not an inherited condition

-It cannot be passed down from one generation to another

-Turners doesn't have a specific ethnicity.
