On the American's side were major generals, Benedict Arnold and Horatio Gates. These generals were important because they had an argument about military decisions that caused Arnold to betray the Patriots and become the most famous traitor in American history. Meanwhile, on the British side was General John Burgoyne, who had a plan that might've worked if General Howe had gotten the idea.
