Fourth Station: Jesus Meets his Mother

Out of the corner of my eye, I catch a glimpse of a female figure in the background. She is crying and shaking uncontrollably. I exhale. "Mary," I utter. Now, this is always the part that gets me. Mary knows that she can't do anything to stop this. She is completely helpless. Mary doesn't deserve to be put through this. She has done nothing wrong. I'm the one who screwed this up. Mary shouldn't be paying for my mistakes.

Jesus continues to stagger down the road. When he looks up, he sees his mother. His eyes are full of sorrow. He tries to speak, but he can't. He just fixes his gaze upon his mother. The guards take notice and pushes Jim past his mother.
