THIS IS BELGICA AND THIS IS THE NATIVE INSECT OF ANTARCTICA. Belgica lives in the ice landmass and it survives by absorbing heat from its deep purplish black coloration.

It is the biggest insect on Antarctica as it is 2.6mm long and it is completely flightless. The Belgica's body fluids(like blood) can freeze without it dying. The belgica's life span is only two years and it can go without oxygen for 2-4 weeks!
