Parallel and perpendicular lines

Perpendicular lines:

Perpendicular lines are lines that meet at a 90 degree angle.

• They have exactly opposite slopes
• The slope of the intercepting line is a negative reciprocal

One line has a slope of 3 or 3/1 and the other line has a slope of –1/3 making it the negative reciprocal.
