Facts about Ancient Greek Sports
The first Olympics used to be held over one day. As more events were added, the Ancient Greeks spread the competition out over several days. Today the Olympics are held over 2-3 weeks and have over 20 different sports. Because there are so many sports, the modern Olympics are held in both winter and summer, and are held every four years instead of every year like the Greeks. Modern sports include basketball, soccer, swimming, gymnastics, and water polo. New sports are added all the time, such as snow-boarding.
