Complement of an event

Complement of an event are all outcomes that are not the event.

Examples

When you flip a coin and it's tails the complement
is heads.

When you choose a card with hearts the complement is joker, spades, clubs, and diamonds.

So, the complement of an event is all the other outcomes.
