Poetry Dig

Warning: Sharks
Beware the bear-trap jaw,
the teeth,
another five sets set
beneath the gum,
and that vast stomach full
of things such long immersion's
dulled:
a keg of nails,
a ragged coat,
a boat's dark anchor,
a child's white shoe,
a heavy brass-bound antique trunk.
All the things that man can make,
from ancient seas the shark can take.

Why I cose this Poem:
I chose this poem because of how it relates to me. It relates to me because when I was 4, I got to go on my first trip to Disney World! My mom let me choose one thing to bring home as a souvineer. What I chose was a shark tooth. I have it still today, 9 years after I first bought it. This poem reminded me of that moment in time and it will always stay with me!
