Chromium is what is used to prepare pigments and gives many household items their colors. If you have a vibrant green vase, for example, it is likely that it is chromium that gives the glaze its color. Red, yellow, and green pigments come from chromium. Moreover, red rubies and green emeralds look the way that they do because of the presence of chromium. Chromium is used in stainless steel, and other alloys.

Food sources of Chromium include: Whole grains, Bread, Brown rice, Meat, Broccoli, Mushrooms, Green beans, Brewer's yeast, Beef, Beer, Chicken breast, Chicken legs, Calves' liver, Cereals, Cheese, Eggs, Fish, Sea food, Corn, Potatoes, Diary products, and Fresh vegetables. Chromium plating, for example on cars and bicycles, produces a smooth, silver finish that is highly resistant to corrosion.
