Ezra's Covenant Summary:

Ezra prayed because he knew that they had done wrong. A large group of Israelites gathered before the house of God crying profusely. Shecaniah, the son Jehiel said to Ezra. We have surely turned away from God by marrying women from foreign lands, yet hope still remains for us. We must enter into an agreement with God and shun our foreign wives and the children born to them. In following your advice Lord, and those who follow the commandments, let it be done according to the law. Rise, this is Your duty! God is with us, so act courageously. Ezra made all the leaders of the priests swear their allegiance to the covenant.
