The 2nd Continental Congress:
-Met in Philadelphia
-They decided that George Washington would be commander-in-chief
The Continental Army:
-John Adams came up with the idea
-George Washington was chosen to lead it
The Battle of Bunker Hill:
-More than 1,000 British troops were killed or wounded
-On their third attack, the redcoats finally took the hill- only because the Americans used up their gunpowder and pulled back
