What was his early life like?
John Batman was born in Parramatta, New South Wales on the 21st of January 1801. His father William Batman was an ex-Convict for stollen goods.John was the first child to be born in the new colony, but the family was getting bigger to five sons and one daughter.Throughout John's life there were fierce punishments for petty crimes.
