History

-Founded in 2009, by a group of students from the University of Waterloo.

-Their goal was to create new technologies to be used on mobile smartphones, which ended up creating Kik Messenger.

-Kik Messenger was released on
October 19, 2010.

-Early around 2012, estimated around 450,000 people were downloading Kik in a day.

-On April 11, 2013 a total of 50 Million users had been registered on Kik.
