Search For John Wilkes Booth
The search for John Wilkes Booth was one of the largest manhunts in history, with 10,000 federal troops, detectives and police tracking down the assassin. On July 7, 1865, three men and one woman were hanged for the crime of conspiring to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln.
