All glow in the dark materials contain phosphors. Zinc Sulfide and Strontium Aluminate are the two most commonly used phosphors. Henning Brand accidentally discovered phosphor by attempting to change metals into gold when he isolated phosphorus. Highly reactive and gives off a faint glow when united with oxygen.
