Clinical Description

Symptoms- Abnormal body proportions, Abnormally large breasts(in males), Infertility, Sexual problems, small & firm testicles, tall height, and small amounts of body hair. It only occurs in males and is found equally in all races and ethnicities.

Occurrence- About 1 in 500 to 800 males are born with this disorder and it is fairly common.

Prognosis- Klinefelter's syndrome is a non-life threatening disorder and these men will go on to live normal lives. Unfortunately, most of them will not be able to have kids.

Treatment: Testosterone injections can start around the time of puberty to produce normal muscle mass, hair growth, and sex drive. Breast removal surgery can help with abnormally large breast, and support or therapy for well-being of the man.
