The Trial of Tim Robinson
(chapter 9-11)
(Chapter 9) Atticus is defending Tom Robinson, a black man accused of rape.
1. Scout almost starts a fight with Cecil Jacobs, because he was making fun of his father defending a black man.
2. Francis, Scout's own cousin, makes fun of
Scout & Atticus. (breaking point) Scout then loses her temper and beats her own cousin up.
3. Mrs. Dubose throws insults towards Jem & Scout. Jem destroys the bushes, and is forced to read as punishment.
Mrs. Dubose passes away.
Mrs. Dubose leaves behind a camelia for Jem.
Jem refuses to accept the camelia.
Finch explains to Jem that Mrs. Dubose had a morphine addiction.
