Chapter 2
Weeeeee! I was falling down a long pipe that was going straight down (esophagus). As I was going down, it was quite squishy (peristalsis). When I reached the bottom of the pipe, I was sucked in to a large opening (sphincter) and landed in a cave (stomach). The good thing is, I saw all my friends down there, but suddenly, this weird liquid starts squirting out (gastric juice). I stayed in the cave (stomach) for about three hours. While I was in there, I was attacked by acid (chemical digestion) designed to break me down into a runny, soup-like liquid (chyme). Finally, we were about to leave the stomach, but the last 10 inches of it was rough (duodenum) and the world around me was shaking (mechanical digestion). After our stay in the cave, we were expelled into the small tunnel (small intestine).
