Cold and hungry. Stuck in a trap, left to die. My great great uncle Conrad Leinweber, and his kids, were in the middle of the time of the Bolshevik revolution in 1917. The Russians "robbed" him of everything and left him starving. They controlled him like he was a prisoner. All he wanted was a new wife (because the previous wife died) for a new family. He sent letters back to his family to explain the whole situation and say their goodbyes. Our family has inherited that letter and cherished the historical memories.
