-cities were battled each other for power and land
-bloody wars
-enemies were captured and killed as a sacrifice to the Gods
-some think their downfall was because of warfare

City Life

-special ball court: must hit the ball without the use of hands nor feet
- losers were then sacrificed

-had temples to show honor
- plazas for public gatherings
-Terrance farming
-built canals to control water flow
