Responsibilities are to estimate the numbers of marine organisms and analyse their population features.
observe the structure of communities of marine organisms and work out the factors influencing this structure
assess and advise on introduced species - causes, effects, prevention and control
provide advice to managers, politicians, primary producers, health care workers and the general public
