Sam Rayburn

Started as a school teacher than became a lawyer. Was a member of the Democratic Party.
Elected in congress where he represented the fourth Texas district. First term was appointed to the house committee on interstate and foreign commerce and remained a member for 25 years. Was a garners compaign manager, chairman of the interstate and foreign commerce committee, joined forces with George Norris
He sent money back to his districts in Texas and was a fanominal speaker
